Community Learning Tutor/Trainer/Assessor

RESPONSIBLE TO:
Head of Department, Foundation Skills
JOB PURPOSE:
To act as a Tutor/Trainer/Assessor on a variety of programmes,
ensuring the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient
development/training.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
i)
To respond to customer enquiries, and provide advice on development/opportunities and
support systems.
ii)
To facilitate the development/learning process on a range of programmes, enabling groups and
individuals to achieve their development objectives.
iii)
To undertake initial assessment and complete RARPA documentation.
iv)
To deliver community programmes and ensure learners achieve their required development
outcomes.
v)
To assess learners, using a variety of appropriate assessment methods.
vi)
To maintain awareness of developments and trends within assessment methods and ensure
best practice is maintained.
vii)
To participate in an on-going programme of self assessment and to contribute to the ongoing
college self-assessment programme.
viii)
To take an active part in the quality assurance and planning process within the department and
contribute to the programme review and development procedure.
x)
To participate in course teams and other staff meetings, so as to make an effective contribution
to the development and application of college policies and procedures.
xi)
To contribute to the day to day organisation, running and administration of the area, and ensure
schedules of work and programme files are kept up to date.
xii)
To ensure training activities are compliant with the College’s Health and Safety Policy and Equal
Opportunities Policy.
xiii)
To complete necessary registration of attendance documents and provide other relevant data as
required.
xiv)
To work co-operatively with other areas of the College to provide a corporate all year College
service.
xv)
To contribute to the cost effectiveness and efficiency of the programmes.
xvi)
To be committed to professional/vocational development, participating in training and
development activities as required.
xvii)
To undertake such other duties that may be reasonably required by the Principal commensurate
with grade at the initial place of work, and at other locations within the college catchment area.
xviii)
To support and comply with the Risk Management audit requirements.
