Established in 1988, The Black Tie Company specializes in distinctive weddings,
rehearsal dinners, lobster bakes and corporate functions. We are Southern Maine’s
finest full-service caterer, with over 25 years of experience producing special events
throughout New England. Black Tie caters at eight exclusive locations and is a
preferred caterer at dozens of Maine’s best venues. Rental fees for The Black Tie

Black Tie at The Portland Club Also known as the Shepley-Hunnewell Mansion, this
classic West End venue was built in 1805 and boasts a long history as the city’s most
desirable location for distinguished social events. The formal ballroom comfortably
seats up to 230 guests for dinner and 400 for cocktail parties. More intimate rooms
include a living room, library and bar lounge for small wedding ceremonies and dinner
parties. The Portland Club also features a private bridal suite, ample parking, and
convenient access to downtown Portland and area hotels.
Black Tie at Camp Hammond Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this
Victorian manor home in Yarmouth is the ideal setting for office retreats and board
meetings, and is a place where special celebrations – weddings, anniversary parties,
corporate affairs and other large gatherings – come to life in intimate surroundings.
The property features a wedding gazebo and tented patio for summer receptions.
Working fireplaces in five rooms add a warm glow in cooler months.
Harbor View at Jones Landing This completely renovated waterside facility is the
perfect spot for rehearsal dinners and weddings, as well as corporate and social

Black Tie at Pineland Farms This spacious campus in New Gloucester offers multiple
conference rooms, meeting spaces, ceremony locations and reception venues, all
overlooking scenic countryside. Whether you seek a modern ballroom with views of
Mt. Washington or an elegant tented field beside formal gardens, Pineland Farms has
the ideal space for you. With your customized menu, Black Tie can serve a variety of
award-winning Pineland produce for an amazing farm-to-table experience!
Merrill Barn and Farmhouse at Pineland Farms With its attached rustic barn seating
up to 75 and overnight accommodations for up to 21 people, the Merrill Farmhouse is
a fantastic setting for weddings, family reunions, social gatherings, and corporate
retreats.
The Landing at Pine Point Located in a charming beachside community, this stunning
venue offers the perfect setting for your most important event. Offering seating for
up to 250 for dinner or 400 for cocktail parties, this elegantly appointed venue was
custom designed to host state-of-the-art events and concerts. The property features
60-foot high ceilings, a 24’ x 30’ oak hardwood stage, conference room, bridal suite,
private outdoor ceremony site, outdoor patio, and off-street parking.
Josias River Farm This beautiful property is located in Cape Neddick Maine, and
includes acres of wonderful gardens and an antique barn that can seat up to 90
guests. There are wonderful vistas and views for reception tents, and your guests are
minutes from hotels and beaches.

Shady Lane Farm This lovely venue is located in New Gloucester, in the historic
district, close to the village. The large antique barn seats up to 200, and is well-suited
to host many events: weddings, rehearsal dinners, auctions, and large fundraisers.
The barn features hemlock hardwood floors, high ceilings, and unlimited potential to
reflect your own style and taste. There is a sweet pond on site, hundreds of
surrounding acres of privacy, and numerous vistas of the hills of New Gloucester.
Black Tie’s Off-premise Events The Black Tie Company excels at transforming private
homes, tented fields, and public facilities into spectacular settings. We attend to every
detail, including electrical requirements, kitchen needs and guest parking. Prior to a
function, our qualified staff visits the site to evaluate your location requirements, as
well as to search out special features that will enhance your event and reflect your
personal style, taste, and budget. Whether you choose a scenic park, a stately
museum, or your own home for your next gathering, The Black Tie Company can
accommodate all of your event needs.
Rentals: Most off-premise events require rental items. Whether your needs are as
simple as a dozen damask linens, or as complex as tenting, heating, place settings,
etc., Black Tie can handle the special requirements that accompany your function. Our
sources for rentals give us more flexibility and selection than most, and our
experienced staff will be happy to advise you on specific requirements. A complete
rental list, along with an estimate including delivery and pick-up will be provided in
the initial stages of planning.
Personnel: Black Tie Catering will provide you with all the necessary staffing required
for your event. Staffing is based on the number of guests, duration of the event, and
style of service. The logistics of the function site are also important considerations certain events may require more staff due to challenging conditions. Most off-site
weddings or other large events require a minimum of a function coordinator, a
beverage server, service personnel and a chef and kitchen personnel. Personnel is
attired in a French waiter-style black apron and black dress pants, pressed tie and
black dress shirt. In addition to the positive responses to our cuisine, client
confidence in our staff continues to be one of our strongest assets. All personnel is
billed at $35.00-$45.00 per hour based upon a minimum of four hours. Travel
outside Portland is billed at $15 per hour per staff member. Gratuity is optional.
Decorations & Event Design: Black Tie will be happy to assist in your event design and
decorating needs. Drawing on our wealth of experience and creative resources, we’ll
work with you to make your vision come to life. We can arrange for flowers, ice
sculptures, specialty lighting - anything that might complement your affair. Day-of
wedding ceremony and event coordinator services are also available.
Licensed, Insured Bar Service: This service provides liquor liability insurance,
alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and all necessary barware and service items.
Clients may opt to have a full or partial (beer & wine only) bar. All hosted bars
provided by Black Tie are subject to 7% Maine Sales Tax and 20% administrative
