The Association of Student Unions
in Gothenburg (GFS) is a nonprofit organisation for the student
unions in Gothenburg. GFS strives
to improve conditions for students
in various ways, mainly by offering
students help and support within
the social/socio-political arena.
Another important part is to make
sure that Gothenburg continuously
develops as a major student city.
Student accommodation
in Gothenburg
Each semester many new students are excited to start their student life
in Gothenburg. But to find accommodation is not always easy, and it can
take a while to get your own lease. Start your house-hunt by registering at
Boplats Göteborg and SGS Studentbostäder. At Boplats Göteborg you find
flats and student accommodation as well as sublets and rooms for private
hire. This is also where you apply for student flats via Chalmers. Visit
Boplats Göteborg at Rosenlundsplatsen 1.
Around 50 000 students are attending higher education in Gothenburg right now. Their choice to
study in Gothenburg is not surprising. You can choose from a number of popular courses at the

starting point possible for you and
your fellow students and to make
sure that you can get the most out
of your time at university.
The student unions in Gothenburg
are also, through a chair holding
company, the owners of a student
health centre and three fitness
centres, more commonly known
as Akademihälsan and Fysiken.
As a student, you are entitled to
free study-related healthcare and
a student discount membership at
Fysiken. GFS also provide free legal
advice for student union members,
through our student lawyers.
