Let us work out
a bill for you...
The figures in this brochure
will give you an idea of what
you can expect.
But remember, your bill
will depend on the type of
appliances you have and
how much you use them.
The appliances shown in
this brochure, are the
average sizes used.
Right now, January 2013, the average cost of
electricity is $36 per kWh. Kilowatt hours or kWh
is a measure of how much electricity you use, just
as how "gallons" is a measure of how much water
you use.
So $36 per kWh, means it costs $36 for each
kWh that you use.

Here are some tips.
FOR YOUR FRIDGE
3 Make sure the rubber seals are good,
so that air is not escaping
3 Don’t open the fridge door and let out all
the cool air, while you decide what to eat
FOR YOUR AIR CONDITIONER
3 As soon as the room gets cool enough,
turn it off, and turn on the fan instead
3 Make sure all windows and doors are
closed when the AC unit is on
3 Keep the air filter clean
3 Use your AC unit less often. It uses a
lot of current.
FOR YOUR STOVE
3 Change if you can, to a gas stove
3 If you still use an electric stove, make sure
the pot is the right size for the burner
3 Turn off the stove 10 minutes before the
food is cooked. The hot stove will continue
to cook the food.
FOR YOUR IRON
3 Do not iron everyday. Save up all your
ironing for one day.
3 Do not chat on your phone while you iron.
You will take longer and use more electricity.
