that spans the globe. This reach requires that CP Kelco abide by one global quality

Corporate Headquaters
One CP Kelco Quality Standard establishes a priority and management structure
to ensure the production of safe, high quality ingredients for our customers. The
ever-expanding global regulatory environment requires that we elevate compliance,
harmonize audit procedures in all our facilities and creates accountability and visibility
to external parties. These are key initiatives to maintain the right to operate and
customer trust.
QUALITY STANDARDS IN PRACTICE
During 2012, CP Kelco fully implemented an internal Global Quality Improvement
and Food Safety Initiative. As part of this initiative, minimum mandatory quality and
regulatory standards were established for all facilities and employees. The standards
elevate the commitment to quality and food safety and have been validated by
external audits.

Marketing to regulated industries such as food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics,
requires compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). All CP
Kelco manufacturing facilities are compliant to cGMPs, have fully developed and
audited HACCP plans, have established raw material certification and qualification
procedures and actively participate in customer and third party audits.
The Global QMS Internal Audit process focuses on five categories:
4. Quality Systems
5. Regulatory Compliance
As part of the Global QMS Internal Audit process, CP Kelco employs an external
certified cGMP consultant as part of the audit team. The third party cGMP
expert audits the entire facility to assure compliance to cGMPs and HACCP
requirements. The auditor is intimately knowledgeable on the facility’s QMS
policies and procedures, and performs an inspection of the entire manufacturing
site, processes, records and training.
All CP Kelco facilities have conducted unannounced
Third Party cGMP Consultant Audits.
CP Kelco has proudly received GFSI – FSSC 22000
Certifications for all nine manufacturing facilities.
CP Kelco’s ongoing Quality Improvement Initiatives places intense focus on food
safety. As a reflection of this focus, all CP Kelco facilities have been audited for
compliance to the Global Food Safety Initiative, Food Safety System Certification
FSSC 22000. This global food safety management standard continues to build
on prerequisite programs and existing quality management systems and validates
for our customers CP Kelco food ingredients are safe and certified by the GFSI.
As of October 2012, all CP Kelco facilities comply with cGMP, have received
ISO-9001:2008 certification, and have completed third party GFSI audits
and certifications.

DEFINITIONS
CURRENT GOOD MANUFACTURING
PRACTICES (cGMP)
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (also known as cGMP)
are a set of regulations set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) to help ensure that various products
intended for human consumption and use are safe and effective.
HAZARD ANALYSIS AND CRITICAL
CONTROL POINTS (HACCP)
HACCP is a food safety management system designed to identify
and prevent microbial and other hazards in food production. It
includes steps designed to prevent problems before they occur
and to correct deviations as soon as they are detected. HACCP
is endorsed by the National Academy of Sciences and the
National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for
Foods (NACMCF), and by the Codex Alimentarius Commission
and the International Commission on Microbiological
Specifications for Foods.
ISO 9001:2008
Published by the International Organization for Standardization,
ISO 9001 specifies the basic requirements for a quality
management system (QMS) that an organization must fulfill to
demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products (which
include services) that enhance customer satisfaction and meet
applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
GLOBAL FOOD SAFETY INITIATIVE FSSC 22000
The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is coordinated by
The Food Business Forum CIES. This forum is a global
food network made up of approximately 400 retailers and
manufacturers worldwide. GFSI benchmarks food safety
standards, evaluating them against a set of criteria to ensure the
core of the standards are equivalent and certification will be
acceptable. The Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000
is one of 10 certification programs that can be used to certify
to the GFSI. All 10 programs have been endorsed by GFSI and
a successful audit to any one of them will result in certification
that is endorsed by GFSI. FSSC 22000 is developed for the
certification of food safety systems of food manufacturers that
process or manufacture animal products, perishable vegetal
products, products with a long shelf life and (other) food
ingredients like additives, vitamins and bio-cultures.
