Nevada list of approved supplemental materials; specifically with a Science
focus.

SPECIFICATIONS Please deliver the following to the above address only for K-12 Science or
Health focused supplements, by the submission deadline. Include
technology specifications if needed.
• Any products with a non-digital platform:
o One (1) copy of any and all instructional support materials for said
product. This includes non-digital manipulatives, teacher resources,
and student materials; if available.
• Any products that need to be installed via networks or desktops:
o Two (2) copies that enable access or permissions for users to see
student platform, teacher platform, administrator/school platform,
and district platform; if available.
o One (1) copy of any and all non-digital instructional support
materials for said product. This includes non-digital
manipulatives, teacher resources, and student materials; if
available.
• Web-based products:
o Five (5) access codes or permissions that enable users to see
student platform, teacher platform, administrator/school
platform, and district platform; if available.

All submissions must be for Science learning and must be aligned to the
Nevada Academic Standards for Science (NGSS)
Additional copies and accompanying supplementary materials may be
requested from selected publishers after the initial screening process is
completed.
Central to the needs of the District is a product that:

Provides Differentiated Instruction including specific researched-based approaches to
meet the needs of second language learners and students with a variety of learning
difficulties.
Demonstrates research-based effectiveness in teaching/learning.
Culturally appropriate and balanced.
Rigorous and balanced to include context-based applications, procedures, and skills
based upon the Nevada Academic Content Standards.
Provides usable data for monitoring student progress and/or determining student areas
of strength/need.
Incorporates the three-dimensional learning that includes science and engineering
practices, disciplinary core ideas, and crosscutting concepts.
All material submissions must be accompanied by TWO (2) COPIES of the
Publisher Information Sheet. All forms must be printed.
Submission packets not submitted in the manner designated above or incomplete
packets will not be considered.
TIMELINES
The District will list approved Science materials by mid-March of the 2016
school year. These will be added to the approved WCSD Vendor Product List
for individual school funded purchases.
SAMPLING
All instructional materials submitted for evaluation become the property of the
District and will not be returned, it is expected that access to the product will
be terminated after the review. Shipping costs related to these supplementary
materials will be the sole responsibility of the Supplier/Publisher.
Should your material be selected as a semi-finalist, you may be requested to
provide one half-hour presentation/ product demonstration to a committee for
final review. If product is approved, vendors may be invited to participate in a
future product fair.
During the course of the review process, DO NOT CONTACT OR SAMPLE
any District entity or employee on any matter related to the supplementary
materials submitted by your company, except at the request of Kelly Cannon or
Maria Munoz.
