Lot Number Determination for Sorghum Products
Conventional and Organic Grain, Flour, and Bran Sorghum Products: Bulk and Retail
The lot numbers for grain, flour and bran products are created as follows: XXX-XXXXXX-XX. The
first three digits are for the company that the order is going to. The next set of numbers (six
digits) indicate the beginning date of production (example: 151125) for that specific lot. The
last two digits depict the bin number the grain was stored in.
Conventional and Organic Popped Sorghum: Bulk and Retail
The lot number for popped sorghum are created as follow: XXX-XXXXXX-XX. The first three
digits are for the company that the order is going to. The next set of numbers (six digits)
indicate the beginning date of production (example: 151125) for that specific lot. The last two
digits depict the bin number the grain was stored in.
Conventional and Organic Cut and Meal Sorghum Products: Bulk and Retail
The lot number for cut and meal sorghum product are created as follows: XXXX-XXXXX-XX
(example 1440-50623-21). The first four digits denote the granulation of the product. Moving to
the next set of numbers (five digits) the first digit represents the last digit of production year,
the next two digits indicate the production month, and the last two digits denote the beginning
date of the production. Finally, the last two digits indicate the bin number the grain was stored
in.
