The American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
provides accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC Guide
65 for product certification programs to ensure that the
marketplace can gain confidence for their activities. All of

CSA Certificatio
Many of our safety eyewear products are also certified to
the requirements of the Canadian Standards Association
(CSA). CSA certification is indicated in the description of
each applicable product.
Ballistic Impact Protection
For even greater security and protection from the
unexpected, many of our safety eyewear products have
undergone and passed Military V0 (V-sub zero) ballistic
impact testing. This means each of these eyewear styles
can withstand impact energies 7X greater than the impact
tests required by ANSI and CSA. (Does not apply to
speciality tints and welding shades).

Hard Hat Safety
At DiVal Safety Equipment, our top priority is keeping our customers safe. Part of that responsibility
involves informing customers about the differences between our products. In this instance, we would
like to explain some of the safety features available in our hard hats. Use of the proper ANSI-compliant
head protection is required by OSHA and can help prevent injuries.
ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 standards indicate two types of head protection:
Type I: Protects against blows to the top of the head.
Type II: Protects against blows to the top of the head and sides of the head.
ANSI standards also indicate three classes of head protection:
Class E (Electrical): tested to withstand 20,000 volts
Class G (General): tested to withstand 2,200 volts
Class C (Conductive): do not provide any protection from electricity.
Suspensions: Hard hats are available in
three different types of suspensions.
Ratchet Suspension:
Adjusts by turning a knob at the rear or the hard hat.
Pinlock Suspension:
Adjusts by taking off the hat and matching a pin into a corresponding hole.
1-Touch Suspension:
Adjusts by squeezing and separating suspension to best fit
Determining the right suspension is essential in optimizing worker comfort. Suspensions are
available in 4, 6, or 8 points. The more points, the better the distribution of the impact force.
Hard Hats should be replaced anytime they show signs of wear such as cracks, chips,
holes, dents or brittleness. Suspensions should be replaced annually or when they show
signs of wear such as cracks, tears, or loss of pliability.
Never interchange one manufacturers hard hat with another’s suspension.
