LOCATOR: 5.18 TITLE: Electrician QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Must have and maintain a Wyoming Master Electrician License or be a Journeyman that can obtain a Master License within 3 months. Must have current working knowledge of all applicable codes or procedures that are required by governing agencies &/or statutes. Must keep a valid Wyoming Drivers License. Must provide services in a competent and professional manner. Must be able to work well with other maintenance staff in order to troubleshoot building issues and maintain efficiency. Must have a broad working knowledge of all building systems, physical plants, and construction documents. REPORTS TO: Facilities Director and Maintenance Supervisor JOB GOAL: To help maintain the school facilities physical plants in a condition of operating excellence in order to provide all students with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive, pleasant and smoothly functioning. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Communicate effectively, cooperatively and continually with the Facilities Director and Maintenance Supervisor. 2. Assumes primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, electrical apparatus, wiring, air conditioning, refrigeration units, phones, camera systems, custodial & staff equipment, and any other electrical elements in the facilities or on site. 3. Instructs custodians and other maintenance staff on proper methods and procedures when dealing with anything involving electricity. 4. Helps estimate the costs of electrical repair work in terms of supplies, labor or special equipment and/or outside companies utilized. 5. Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase. 6. Maintains inventory of district owned tools, equipment and supplies related to the electrical field. 7. Supervises the installation and operation of lighting and electrical sound systems within all facilities including gymnasiums, auditoriums, and stadiums. 1 11/14 Electrician LOCATOR: 5:18 8. Review and address open work order tickets in a timely manner. 9. Provide insight to electrical and technology for new construction. 10. Accurately interpret blueprints. 11. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment for all systems, technology, fire and security. 12. Regularly examines facilities to determine preventive maintenance that needs to be accomplished. 13. Manage work system as to complete tasks in a timely manner. 14. Keeps informed of the latest trends, developments, and products in the areas of electrical repair and maintenance. 15. Maintain building fire alarm systems and help coordinate requirements with alarm companies or the State Fire Marshal. 16. Assist the technology department with the proper wiring of computer labs, servers, etc. as required to keep the data needs current. 17. Oversee and install technology security cameras, equipment in facilities including coordinate fire system repairs, problems, and maintenance of monitoring company installation and maintenance, troubleshoot , diagnose with monitor compatibility. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds and carry more than 50 feet throughout the work day and lift 75 pounds to waist height. 2. Lower body strength to stand and walk throughout the day or to sit throughout the day. 3. Ability to work at heights in excess of 10 feet from ladders, catwalks, roof tops, etc. 4. Ability to work around or be in contact with items that affect senses (i.e. – chemicals, loud equipment). 5. Need to be adaptable to varying temperature and climates encountered indoors or outdoors. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of 2 11/14 Electrician LOCATOR: 5:18 indefinite duration as per District Policy. Twelve months with vacations as per District Policy; salary and fringe benefits to be set by Board of Trustees.
