Our exchange programmes mainly include: study semester practical semester final year projects Each year we expect a large number of students who take part in our exchange programme. They come from the EUcountries within the ERASMUS-Programme and also from overseas countries such as Australia, China and Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, USA, Mexico and South Africa etc. Exchange students can stay 1 to 2 semesters with us. Tuition fees will be waived for those who are sent from partner institutions. An affordable room in a student residence hall will be allocated for the exchange period. We offer a wide range of business courses conducted in English both in under- and postgraduate study programmes. A list of courses held in English is also available for nonbusiness students. If exchange students would like to learn German, our Language Center offers different levels of German courses, other languages as well as intercultural training courses for them to choose with tuition waiver. Academic Calendar Winter semester: 1st October – 14th March (exam period: approx. 24.1. – 6.2.) Summer semester: 15th March – 30th Sept. (exam period: approx. 11.7. – 24.7.) We provide various services to assist exchange students before, during and after their exchange semester with us: Information prior to arrival We send pre-arrival information to exchange students to assist them getting prepared for the exchange semester at the Ohm University. Orientation days after arrival Helping exchange students to settle in, doing formalities, taking out health insurance, opening bank account etc. Student buddies Student buddies are assigned to help exchange students especially during the first weeks after their arrival. They give assistance ranging from pick-up service to organising orientation activities. Club International Formed by Ohm University students, the club organises social and cultural activities for both exchange and German students, such as: Welcome and farewell parties, cultural events, sport activities, day trips etc. Come-in and come-together activities Regular cultural events, sight-seeing tours, museum visits or excursions etc. are organised to help exchange students adjust to living in Nuremberg and enrich their study life at the Ohm University. Counselling services / Language tandem The IO is your contacting partner during your exchange period. We offer you assistance with immigration or visa problems and provide support and advice on matters of personal, social or academic nature. If you would like to practise a desire language, we try to find a language partner for you. Application for Accommodation Ohm University does not offer on-campus accommodation. However, exchange students will be assured of a room in one of the student residence halls which are being managed and handled by the “Studentenwerk Nürnberg-Erlangen” (student services). Student residence halls are located not very far away from the University. Monthly rent ranges from Euros 150 – 250, depending on the location, size and comfort of the room.
