These applications are warranted by the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty. • Use for multicolor graphics including labels, emblems, striping Limitations of End Uses We do not normally warrant other applications, but please contact us to discuss your needs or let us suggest other 3M products. Performance statements are based upon representative values obtained from exposure tests conducted throughout Europe. Actual performance will be determined by substrate selection and preparation, maintenance of the marking and exposure conditions. The warranty applies to films that are exposed at a vertical angle (defined as 90°+/-10°). A significant decrease in durability may be experienced if films are exposed other than vertical. Such non-vertical applications must be on a test and approval basis to determine acceptability. 3M does not warrant non-vertical exposures. 2. Unprinted 3M™ Scotchcal™ Film 3670 white has a tendency to chalk upon exterior exposure. Film intended for use on signs where cleaning is not practical must be clear coated with 3M™ Screen Print Clear 1920DR or 9720 UV. When using any equipment, always follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe operation. The appropriate Instruction Bulletin(s) may be obtained by contacting your 3M sales representative or 3M Technical Service. 3M™ Scotchcal™ Film 3670 is not positionable. Apply it like any other pressure-sensitive film. The minimum air and substrate application temperature is 4°C (40°F). Although there is no maximum application temperature, the adhesive becomes more aggressive as the surface temperature increases. Refer to Instruction Bulletin 5.5 for more details. Screen Printing Inks Maintenance and Cleaning 3MTM Screen Printing Ink Series 1900 3MTM Screen Printing Ink Series 9700 UV Overprint Clear For stated performance, screen printing inks must be clear coated as follows: Ink Series 1900: Clear Gloss 1920DR Clear Matte 1930 Ink Series 9700 UV: Clear Gloss 9720 Clear Matte 9730 Clear Coat 1955abc Glossy 2-component clear Page 2 of 4 Product Bulletin PB_3670-EU-C-Jan01 Use a cleaner designed for high-quality painted surfaces. The cleaner must be wet, non-abrasive, without strong solvents, and have a pH value between 3 and 11 (neither strongly acidic nor strongly alkaline.) Removal Film 3670 is not a removable film. Due to its very agressive adhesive the removal requires the use of a chemical remover system. Shelf Life, Shipping and Storage Physical Properties Property Metric Units Follow these guidelines to store and ship 3M™ Scotchcal™ Film 3670 and the processed graphics. Thickness (ISO 4593) 0.08mm - 0.10mm Tensile Strength (ISO 1184-1983) 22 N/25mm min at 23°C Elongation (ISO 11841983) >50% at 23°C Dimensional Stability (FTM14) < 0.1mm Temperature Range -50°C to +70°C Reverse Impact Resistance No cracking at -30°C No cracking at 23°C • Unprocessed film has a shelf life of 2 years after receipt from 3M. Processed film has a shelf life of 1 year. However, the total shelf life of a graphic before and after processing cannot exceed 2 years. • Store the film in a clean, dry area in the original container. • Store the film out of direct sunlight and at less than 27°C (80°F). • Ship the finished graphic lying flat or roll the graphic. For rolling, roll film side out onto a core that is 13 cm (5 inches) in diameter or larger. These methods help prevent the liner and premask from wrinkling or popping off.
