General Function
Develops process and delivers training to document assessments of student learning outcomes as
required for accreditation. Provides support to faculty and academic departments in the development of
appropriate classroom assessment strategies and tools to provide ongoing feedback on student
learning.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates and delivers appropriate training opportunities for faculty on issues of assessment and
documentation of student learning outcomes.
2. Provides support and consultation to faculty and academic units in developing measurable student
learning outcomes.
3. Oversees the collection and review of core competency implementation plans.
4. Consults with faculty and division directors on the alignment of course and program outcomes.
5. Facilitates the use of “best practices” in assessment and data to improve student learning.
6. Develops dissemination processes for assessment related resources via workshops, websites, and
faculty learning communities.
7. Partners with appropriate Enrollment and Student Services departments to educate faculty and
students in ePortfolio development.
8. Develops communication plan for implementation of core competencies.
9. Partners with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness with the program review process.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

No authority or responsibility for the supervision of others, for project direction
and/or program administration
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and four years of teaching or administration
experience at a higher education institution

Knowledge of principles and practices in learning assessment
Knowledge instructional principles theories and methodologies
Knowledge of accreditation process and requirements
Knowledge of CPCC’s curriculum offerings
Ability to develop and develop new processes/procedures
Leadership skills
Strong communication skills
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment; sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering,
grasping, and repetitive keyboarding motions; vocal communications is required for expressing or
exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal
spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data,
determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities;
no adverse environmental conditions; infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, to other
campuses, locally or out-of-town to attend meetings and conferences
