Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) UL is an independent global company dedicated to safety science that has experience in five key strategic areas: Product Safety, Environment, Life & Health, University and Verification Services. Among the services offered by the company are the evaluation and certification of products. The UL mark in a product, indicates that it has undergone various tests evaluating samples representative to determine that the product meets the requirements of UL. The UL Marks may only be used in UL certified products (or in connection with them) and according to the terms of the written agreement with UL. Several UL marks, each determines the compliance of specific product features. The only way to determine if a product has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories® is to verify the UL brand is in the product. “UL Listing” Mark The UL Listing Mark is one of the UL most widely used marks. If a product carries this mark, it means UL has determined that representative samples of the product meet the safety requirements. These requirements are primarily based on the safety standards published by UL. The UL Listing Mark appears on end-products and complete components used in the manufacture and field installation.
