Insert a tab in text:
If you simply insert a tab, without first setting up tab stops in the ruler, default tab
spacing is inserted in the line of text. If you want specific tab stops and
alignment, first set your tab stops as described in the task above.
1. Hold to bring up the magnifying glass, then drag to position the insertion point.
The “Copy, Paste and Insert menu” will appear.
2. Click Insert
3. Select Tab.
Set tab stops:
You can set up tab stops along the ruler to align text on the left, center, right, or
decimal point.
1. Place the insertion point (or select the paragraphs) where you want to apply
the tab stops.
2. Tap the markings along the ruler at the point where you want to insert a tab
stop.
3. To change the position of the tab stop, drag its icon along the ruler.
4. To change the alignment for the tab stop, double-tap its icon in the ruler.
Continue double-tapping the icon until you see the type of tab stop you
want.

A right-pointing triangle indicates a left-aligned tab stop.
▪
A diamond shape indicates a center-aligned tab stop.
▪
A left-pointing triangle indicates a right-aligned tab stop.
▪
A circle indicates a decimal-aligned tab stop.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for as many tab stops as you want to insert in the
ruler.
Remove a tab stop:
Touch and hold the tab stop icon in the ruler, and then drag it downward, off of
the ruler.
The tab stop is removed when you lift your finger to stop dragging.
