COMPASS DAY LETTER
COMPASS DAY 2016!
Dear Parents and Students of the Class of 2020,
You’re beginning a new phase of your life upon entering
Regis Jesuit High School. In an effort to help you
begin your high school career, your first day as a Raider
will be to attend Compass Day on:
THURSDAY, AUGUST 11: 8:30 am-2:30 pm
Sign in will begin at 8:30 am. Boys should report to Boys Division Tradition Hall and the girls will report
to the Girls Division Cafeteria.
Your Compass Day will consist of experiences designed to start the class of 2020 on more comfortable
footing with teachers, juniors, seniors and each other. Your day will be led by juniors and seniors who have
already been training and planning the day’s events with plenty of excitement and energy. It is mandatory
that all incoming students attend Compass Day. Your leader will be contacting you via telephone to
answer any questions you may have before August 11.
Dress code is casual and comfortable—a comfortable pair of athletic shoes is recommended. Girls should
be in Raider Day attire, or a Regis Jesuit t-shirt and jeans (please see student handbook for dress code
guidelines). Food will be provided (Subway) although it would be a good idea to bring a water bottle with
you to stay hydrated. If you have any dietary restrictions, please send your son or daughter with an
appropriate lunch and we will store it safely for you.
Boys Division Parents:
Please plan on joining us for a brief parent meeting, sponsored by the Parent Community Association,
beginning at 8:30 am in the Sheridan Quad. We will cover various topics to help with your transition as a
Regis Jesuit High School parent.
Girls Division Parents:
Please stop by the Foster Quad after you drop your daughter off at the cafeteria entrance. There will be a
welcome tea for parents beginning at 8:30 am, and there will be representatives from the Moms Club,
Men’s Club and Parent Community Association present to answer questions.
Please mark the following dates on your calendar for future freshmen events!
First Home Football Game: September 2- Freshmen are expected to attend and will have activities
planned starting at 3:00 pm after school.
Freshman Retreat: Thursday afternoon, January 12 through Saturday morning, January 14Mandatory for all freshmen. A wonderful experience for all. More details will follow.
We look forward to meeting you on the August 11. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
email us at the address below.
Thanks, and enjoy your summer!
