【Feng Chia Night Market】One of the most famous night markets in Taichung, Feng Chia Night Market is located within 1
kilometer of Feng Chia University. It includes the Fengjia Wen Hua Night Market, Xitun Road, Fengjia Road, and Fuxing Road. The
snacks in the night market will make you drool. The clothing is unique and fairly priced. In addition, the most fashionable mobile
phones are also the cheapest in Taichung.
【Maple Garden】Located next to Taiwan Boulevard in Taichung City, Maple Garden is a unique U-shaped recreational greenland
for the city residents. It has an area of 3 hectares, and contains a lake, red trees, green grass, and observatory bridge. During the day,
there is comforting greenness, and at night, it is filled with sleepless lighting. It has only been opened for half a year, and has rapidly
become one of the most famous scenic spots in Taichung.
【Taichung State Building】The building was built in 1913 when Japanese ruled Taiwan. By the time it was one of the most complex
and ornate buildings of Japanese colonial rule in Taiwan. The original building was shaped L, but was then extended to cover the
patio. The facade is decorated columns, gabled roof and dome. The roof is made in the attic style. After the transfer of the building to
the national government in 1949, it was renamed as Taichung City Hall.
【Taichung Metropolitan Opera House】Designed by Toyo Ito, one of the world's most innovative and influential architects. The
design is an open structure which actively engages its surroundings in all directions and creates opportunities for myriad encounters
between high art and popular art, artists and visitors, stage and auditorium, interior and exterior. Ito calls this space the Sound Cave.
The Sound Cave is both a horizontally and vertically continuous network. Even before entering one of the three theatres, the Sound
Cave is perceived as a fascinating and flexible “acoustic space,” which, in three dimensions, connects Arts Plaza, workshops,
foyers, restaurants etc.
