Grand Slam basketball systems have
been load tested to withstand 250,000
cycles of up and down movement —
with a 240kg weight attached to the
backboard when load testing!
Grand Slam’s armour-plate glass
backboards are unique, as all line
marking is heat-etched onto the
backboard — giving a lifetime finish.
All indoor models are made from
galvanised steel then powder-coated
in-house for a durable, long-lasting
finish. Grand Slam’s professional,
trained installers use fully load-rated
turnbuckles, dee-shackles and pulley
blocks when installing their quality
products.
All ceiling mounted basketball systems
are fully adjustable. This allows them
to be set at the exact playing height
required.
This symbol signifies that the product
is supplied in kit form for transportation.
All components and fixings are
included in the kit.
Backboards are also fully adjustable
for exact vertical alignment when
setting up.
Grand Slam recommend installation
by qualified Grand Slam personnel.

Indoor basketball support beams
All indoor basketball systems require
support beams which should be
considered during the design phase.
Beams can be fitted to run parallel
to the face of the backboard (‘Beam’
system) or perpendicular the face of
the backboard (‘Rail’ system).
The following Reference guide: Indoor
basketball support beams applies
to all indoor basketball systems
including: BB1003, BB1004, BB1005
Stadia system, BB1006 Stadia system,
BB1010, BB1020, BB1022 and
BB1024. All of these systems are
engineer certified.
Please consult Grand Slam for
technical information regarding
recommended basketball beam sizes
and placement. Grand Slam can also
design and install the appropriate
support beams if required.
Basketball support beams are also
engineer certified and, if supplied and
installed by Grand Slam, an engineer
certificate will be issued on completion
of the project.

and side-swing basketball models.

Full size plywood backboard
Official size 1800 x 1050 x 17mm.
Backboard is made from highly durable
exterior grade formply and is plasticcoated with four coats of all weather
industrial satin-finish oil-based paint.
This backboard is extremely strong
and will give years of use with minimal
maintenance. Ideal for both outdoor
and indoor applications. Boards are
supplied undrilled unless ordered
with a Grand Slam basketball system.

Glass backboards are commonly used
instead of timber backboards at venues
where spectators are positioned behind
playing areas. This model features
full size 12mm thick armour-plate glass
supported by a 50mm x 50mm SHS
frame. Glass is siliconed directly to
frame and is cushioned from bottom
frame support with closed cell foam.
Corner aluminium supports screwed
to the main frame act as extra security
and hold the glass snugly in place.
Outer frame is powder-coated white.
Grand Slam’s unique heat-curing
method bakes lines on permanently,
so there is no need to ever replace
lines. Glass is also cut out around the
ring area to avoid contact and possible
breakage. Heavy duty steel ring
bracket support. Supplied with model
BB827 Super durable stadium springloaded ring.

Must be ordered during initial order
of basketball structure. This frame can
be installed to the BB900 backboard
system during manufacture. Ring can
be set from 3050mm to 2600mm for
junior play. A gas strut system assists
raising and lowering of the backboard
frame. Frame runs on two vertical
slides with built-in nylon rollers. Suits
BB1003, BB1004, BB1005, BB1006,
BB1010, BB1012, BB1018, BB1020,
BB1022 and BB1024.

This compact unit is ideal for swing
away basketball systems and vertical
lift curtains: 0.55kw/240v; 300kg
lifting capacity. Motor operates gear
reduction unit. Sensor controls operate
movement of structure to exacting
requirements. All electric switch gear
and wiring included. Drum holds
approximately 30 metres of 6mm
cable. Key can be removed from
control box when not in use. Winch
unit comes complete in solid powdercoated steel box and only requires
a 240v x 10 amp power outlet for
operation.

Note: This system can only be installed
if the wall fixings are strong enough to

are self-locking and provide
a much greater level of safety than
ratchet type winches. This winch
must be operated by an electric
