Introduction (10 point, bold) These are the instructions for preparing papers for BIOMECHANICS 2012. English is the official language. Please, do not forget to check spelling with your spell checker. Set the language to English (U.K.). 2. Methods and materials (10 point, bold) 2.1. Writing the paper (9 point, bold, italic) Paper Size: Select the custom size of the paper, i.e. 14 x 21 cm in Page Setup in your Word Processor. Length: The maximum document size is two pages. Margins: Leave a 1.4 cm margin at the top, 1.4 cm at the bottom, 0.9 cm on the left and 0.9 cm on the right side of the page. Fonts: Use Roman typeface (e.g. Times, Times New Roman) and single line spacing throughout the paper. The use of the English character set is highly recommended in authors’ names, address and references. Title, authors and affiliations: The title should be no longer than two lines. Avoid unusual abbreviations. Center the title (12 point bold). Authors’ names (10 point, capital letters) and affiliations (8 point - Institution/Department, City, Country) should be placed under the title. An address and e-mail for correspondence should be added at the bottom of the first page of the paper. Headings: Enumerate Chapter Headings (font 10, bold) by Arabic numbers (1., 2., etc.). Leave one blank line (6 point) before and one blank line (6 point) after each Chapter Heading. Subchapter Headings are font 9, bold, italic. Style: Use separate sections for the introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments (when appropriate), and references. Body Text: Use Roman typeface (9 point regular) throughout. Use italics only if you want to emphasize special parts of the text. Start a new paragraph by indenting it from the left margin by 4 mm (and not by inserting a blank line). 3. Results (10 point, bold) 3.1. Figures (9 point, bold, italic) Insert figures where appropriate. Enumerate them consecutively using Arabic numbers and provide a caption for each figure (e.g. Fig. 1., Fig. 2.). Use font 8 bold for the Figure caption and font 8 regular for the figure legend. Leave one blank line before (3 point) and one after (9 point) the captions. Center the equations and leave one blank line before (6 point) and one after (6 point) the equations. σ ij = Eijkl ε kl (1) 4. Discussion (10 point, bold) Send your papers only in electronic form. The papers should be submitted in their final form. The organisers will perform no further adjustments and the papers will be reproduced directly from the files submitted by the authors. The authors must upload their paper in MS Word and Pdf format through the conference website (www.biomechanics2012.pb.edu.pl) or as e-mail attachments (biomechanics2012@pb.edu.pl). Papers must be uploaded before the deadline (15 February 2012). After a paper is accepted, one of the authors must complete a registration form and pay the appropriate fees before the paper can be published in the Proceedings. Acknowledgment: Format the Acknowledgment and References headlines without numbering.
