Every year young and old from many different cultures grow their fruits, vegetables and herbs. Moe’sTuin in Poptahof was conceived and is run by a group of residents with the support of the Woonbron social housing corporation and the Poptahof Project. There is always a celebration to start the gardening season, and the end of the season is also celebrated together. Tilly Kaisiëpo, Annie de Vreede, Yusuf Polat and Rifat Bach are the driving forces behind Moe’sTuin. “In 2005 we were in the newspaper with our special initiative. It was going to be a two-year project. And look at us now!” exclaims Tilly. Children’s garden plots In 2010 the first children’s garden plots were put into place. It was Mila Jokhoe’s idea to realise children’s garden in Poptahof. The children’s plots were officially opened and the first plants were put in together with the children from the local Omnibus primary school.’ [Poptahof Delft, 2011] © atelier GROENBLAUW, Amar Sjauw En Wa © atelier GROENBLAUW, Amar Sjauw En Wa © atelier GROENBLAUW, Amar Sjauw En Wa © atelier GROENBLAUW, Amar Sjauw En Wa Literature Poptahof Delft; http://www.poptahof.nl/activiteiten/moes-tuin.html, 2011 Source: http://www.urbangreenbluegrids.com/projects/moestuin-delft-the-netherlands/ Green-blue urban grids make cities sustainable, resilient and climate-proof.
