NON-ACCELERATED SESSION FORMATS
15 Week Semester Courses ( 3 Credits)
35 hours of instructional time
 All classes are held on campus. A three (3) credit lecture course meets the first
fourteen weeks for 2.5 hours each week. ( 2.5 hrs./week x 14 weeks = 35 hours
of instruction).
2 hours for the final exam
 A 2 hour final exam is scheduled for the fifteenth week.
37 total hours
15 Week Semester Science Courses with Lab (4 Credits )
35 hours of instructional time
 All classes are held on campus. The lecture portion of the class meets the first
fourteen weeks for 2.5 hours each week (2.5 hrs./week x 14 weeks = 35 hours of
instruction).
2 hours for the final exam
 A 2 hour final exam is scheduled for the fifteenth week
37 total hours
25 hours and 40 minutes of lab work
 Lab sessions are held 1 day a week for 1 hour and 50 minutes for the first 14
weeks
(1 hour and 50 minutes x 14 = 25 hours and 40 minutes of lab work)
15 Week Hybrid Courses (3 Credits)
Classes are scheduled for one evening a week and alternate, by week, between face to
face meetings and on-line sessions
35 hours of instructional time
18 hours of in-class instruction
 7 classes are face to face for 2 hours and 35 minutes of instructional time each
evening (2 hours and 35 minutes/week x 7 weeks = 18 hours )
17 hours of on-line instruction
 7 classes are held online for a total of 17 hours of instructional time
2 hours for the final exam
 A 2 hour final exam is scheduled for the fifteenth week

6 Week Summer Session (3 Credits)
37 hours
 Classes meet 2 days, or 2 nights a week. A three (3) credit course meets for 3
hours and 15 minutes (includes a 10 minute break) each session for 12 session ( 3
hours and 5 minutes/session x 12 sessions = 37 hours.
The last session includes 2 hours for a final exam.
6 Week Summer Session Science Courses with Lab (4 Credits)
37 hours
 Classes meet 2 days, or 2 nights a week. A three (3) credit course meets for 3
hours and 15 minutes (includes a 10 minute break) each session for 12 session ( 3
hours and 5 minutes/session x 12 sessions = 37 hours.
The last session includes 2 hours for a final exam.
25 hours and 40 minutes of lab work
 Lab sessions are held two days a week for 1 hour and 50 minutes each day for a
total of 12 sessions ( 1 hour and 50 minutes x 12 = 22hours)
 2 lab sessions, each 1 hour and 50 minutes long are completed outside of class ( I
hour and 50 minutes x 2 = 3 hours and 40 minutes)
