All of the equipment connected to the Switch Mode Power Supply must be
backed up, so you must install a UPS with a large output capacity.
With a DC-DC UPS, efficiency is increased because you can back up only
the required equipment. You can select the UPS with the optimum output capacity.

Problem The DC power supply voltage drops temporarily
when an instantaneous voltage drop occurs,
so the PLC detects a power interruption and resets the system.
Solution With a UPS, a voltage drop of DC power is prevented for
an instantaneous voltage drop, so a system reset does not occur.

Backing Up Data in an NJ/NX-series Machine Automation Controllers

cannot be saved if the power is interrupted suddenly.
• Time is required for maintenance for the lost production management
data after power is restored and the system is restarted.

• A power interruption signal from the UPS allows the production management datato be
stored and the system to be safely shut down. By sending a UPS stop signal to the UPS,
the backup power from the UPS can be stopped to prevent using unnecessary backup power. *3
