R399URLS 100-Pair Connector Key Features •Maximum density saves space; increases number of protected cable pair per frame vertical •Tool-less pair-at-a-time connection for fast, reliable and economical terminations •Accommodates a wide range of distribution wire for application flexibility •Accepts industry standard protector modules to permit a wide module selection •“Look-both-ways testing” provides directional access that supports independent testing on each side of the line •Current/overvoltage protection during circuit testing, half-tap additions, line connecting or disconnecting for added safety to personnel and equipment •Swivel stub design for up or down stub configuration facilitates ordering Outside Plant for Business-Critical Continuity Description The latest, state-of-the-art R399URLS protected connector block from Emerson Network Power offers tool-less, gas-tight, pair-at-a-time IDC wire termination on the equipment side jumper field for fast, economical and reliable installations. The R399 is a high density 100-pair connector utilizing industry standard 5-pin protector modules. The R399URLS block is made of 94 V-0 rated, molded plastic and UL Listed to meet specification number UL 497. The block's compact design allows maximum density per frame vertical. Any connection of 22 to 26-gauge (.63mm to .38mm) solid conductor wire is made by lifting the activator, inserting the conductor pair, and pressing the activator down. For cutovers and applications requiring a second extension or connection, the R399URLS offers a half-tap module that operates independently from the permanent distribution activator. Therefore, the distribution half-tap module can be connected and disconnected without disturbing the primary connection. The R399URLS allows front access for both line testing and line disconnection. Disconnecting plugs are available for temporary or permanent disconnection of the circuit. Fault isolation is simplified by directional (“look both ways”) access that supports independent testing on each side of the line. For protection, a full line of 5-pin modules are available. Please see the Protection Arrestors and Modules section in the OSP catalog. Application The R399URLS protects personnel and equipment from abnormal voltages and currents on incoming cable pairs. R399URLS is mounted on framework in central office, remote terminal, or building entrance applications. •UL Listed for documented performance R399URLS with 5-pin Modules OSPDS-090100 / 0106 R399URLS 100-Pair Connector Dimensions Connector H W D R399URLS 8.40-in.
