The Concurrent Enrollment Program was created to allow highly gifted students an opportunity
to enroll in advanced scholastic courses. Advanced scholastic courses include college math,
chemistry, foreign languages, geology, computer sciences, geography, psychology, sociology,
history, humanities, the arts, and appreciation courses. Advance scholastic courses are
courses not offered at the student’s school. Students may not repeat courses until they
have graduated from high school.
To participate in the program, kindergarten through 10th grade (K-10) students must have a 3.0
GPA at their school and complete the program criteria (listed below). 11th and 12th grade
students must have a 2.0 GPA and complete the program criteria.
Application Procedures
A new and returning K-12 student must apply online (Select “Applying for Admission” under the
Admissions, Registration and Records tab). A returning K-12 student is a student that did not
enroll in the past two terms. Continuing K-12 students need not submit a new application unless
they are graduating and meet the criteria to enroll as a first time college student.
After applying, students will be emailed their student ID number and important registration
information.
All concurrent enrollment students must submit the following items:
 Concurrent Enrollment Authorization Form - Submit each semester of attendance
 Official School Transcript (only K-10th graders) - Submit each semester of attendance
 K-10th graders must also submit a recommendation letter from the principal
Students enrolled in a Home Study Program must provide proof that the Home Study Program
is registered with the State of California.

Before deciding to concurrently enroll at Citrus College, students should review course offerings in the Schedule of Classes and the
current Citrus College catalog noting dates, prerequisites, location and times of classes. Courses designated as basic skills or remedial
are not allowed for concurrent student enrollment.
All college coursework and grades become a permanent part of the student’s official college academic history and transcript. Poor
grades have a far-reaching effect on future entrance to a college or university of choice, scholarships, financial aid awards, etc.
Applying for concurrent enrollment does not guarantee a seat in a class. By law, priority is given to college students.
Students must abide by the Student Code of Conduct and are subject to the Student Disciplinary Policy. All disciplinary incidents
become a part of the student’s personal history.
Enrollment is limited to 11 units for Fall and Spring and 5 units for Winter and Summer. K-10th graders are limited to 1 course
only.
Instructors cannot inform parents when classes are cancelled at the last minute or when the class ends early. Instructors cannot sit
with a minor while they wait to be picked up. Instructors will not discuss the minor’s performance with a parent.
Students not attending the first day may be dropped from the class.
Students are protected by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Neither the parent, family member, nor a
representative from the student’s school may inquire about the student or obtain information on the student’s academic performance,
enrollment, or attendance without the expressed written consent of the student regardless of the student’s age.
Courses may include frank discussions on sensitive topics.
Audio-visual presentations may be graphic in their content.
Students may access pregnancy related services, HIV testing and condoms through the Health Center.
Group work or class presentations may be expected in class. If required, these activities will be required of all students, regardless of
age.
Classes are taught at the college level- students must ensure that their maturity level and academic preparation is appropriate to the
level of the class they enroll in.
Registration into NRS 100 is prohibited.
Requirements
15. Students are responsible for registering into their classes online prior to the start of classes.
16. Students must meet all academic deadlines outlined in the semester calendar located in the Schedule of Classes- add and drop
deadlines, and deadlines for withdrawing from a class with a “W” on the transcript.
17. Attendance is required, but not monitored. Citrus will not call parent or guardian if a student is absent, nor will the college verify
attendance.
18. Students must clear any prerequisites and/or arrange for assessment and testing if necessary.
19. Students may only register for the approved classes.
20. Students must apply for concurrent enrollment each term. Concurrently enrolled students do not receive continuing student status.
Therefore, high school students receive the least priority for registration each semester.
21. Students enrolled in Home Study Programs must provide proof that the Home Study Program is registered with the State of California.
22. Students that have not completed the 10th grade prior to the start of the term must gain permission from the Dean of Admissions
and Records (or designee). The student must complete this packet and include a letter of support from the high school principal (not a
counselor); official high school transcripts showing a GPA of a 3.0 or higher; cleared all required prerequisites, if any; and for any
classes for which recommend preparation is English 101 (college level), the students must take the assessment test and at least assess
into English 99.
23. Students must request transcripts if the student’s school requires transcripts.
