Job Aid: Using Delta ESI48I inverters with
Avaya media gateways
Introduction
Use the Delta ESI48I inverter when you want to connect an Avaya G430 or G450 Media
Gateway or EM200 expansion module to a DC power source.
Product description
Avaya recommends two Delta ESI48I inverters:
• The ESI 48 / 120 V – 1k VA: 120 (100~120) VAC output.
• The ESI 48 / 230 V – 1k VA: 230 (208~240) VAC output.
Key features of the Delta inverters:
• Maximum output: 800W.
• Bypass function for AC-to-AC connectivity.
• LCD and LED status indicators.
• Up to four devices.

Warning:
Avaya has not tested other inverters for use with the G430, G450 or EM200.
Ensure the power requirements of the equipment you want to power from the inverter does
not exceed 800W. The following table lists the maximum power requirements of the G430,
EM200 and G450: In most cases, the power consumption is less.
Important:
The power consumption varies according to the actual configuration of the Media Gateway
or Expansion module and is subject to change.
Product
Maximum power consumption
G430 (fully loaded)
220 W
EM200
220 W
G450 (fully loaded)
500 W
Perform these tasks when you want to connect an Avaya G430 or G450 Media Gateway or an
Avaya EM200 expansion module to a DC power source using a Delta ESI48I inverter.
1. Install the inverter according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Connect the G430, EM200, or G450 to the inverter using the appropriate cable.
