But it’s estimated that up to 22% of children experience anxiety more intensely and more often than other children, stopping them from getting the most out of life. This workshop identifies behaviours that an anxious child may demonstrate and supports parents in developing strategies to assist their child. For parents & carers of children aged 3-12 years Bringing up Great Kids Challenged by balancing work and other pressures with spending time with your children? This program assists in building positive parent/child relationships. It helps make sense of unhelpful patterns of behaviour that may be impacting on your own parenting style and provides opportunity to reflect on the messages being sent. A reflective parenting program developed by the Australian Childhood Foundation. For parents & carers of children aged 0-12 years Grandcaring: Trials & Triumphs This workshop explores the challenges experienced by grandparents as carers and will provide practical ideas, tips and strategies to recognise and deal with the increased pressure and stress in your life. For Grandcarers Understanding Anxiety & Depression in Youth Do you have a young person in your life that may be experiencing Anxiety or Depression? This workshop covers the challenges experienced by anxious and/or depressed adolescents and provides practical ideas and tips for parents and carers. For parents & carers of youth aged 10-18 years Setting Boundaries Setting limits whilst still being a loving parent is an important part of raising responsible children. This introductory workshop addresses what boundaries are, why they are important and how parents can help children perceive boundaries for themselves. Learning more about what comprise the four cornerstones of positive parenting could transform your own parenting experience. For parents & carers of children aged 0-12 years Listen to Me This introductory workshop will explore ways to listen to children when they have a problem and how to communicate when their behaviour is causing problems. For parents & carers of children aged 3-12 years Managing Sibling Rivalry Sibling rivalry happens in all families but children need some positive parental input into resolving issues. Parents will learn skills in helping their children deal with their feelings appropriately, encourage cooperation and learn problem-solving skills. Based on the book ‘Siblings without Rivalry’ by A Faber & E Mazlish. For parents & carers of children aged 3-12 years Youth Mental Health First Aid Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or who is in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional treatment is received or the crisis resolves. The course teaches adults mental health first aid strategies to assist adolescents who are in a mental health crisis. It also covers where and how to get help in a crisis situation. For parents, carers and community members About Boys At times it can difficult to understand a boy’s behaviour and how to communicate with them. It can be tempting to back away from them, confused by changes we don’t understand. This introductory workshop aims to help you understand boys’ inner world, develop a channel of communication with them and enjoy them more.
