CO CHAIR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

NNPCF have determined to elect two parent carers from within the
group to undertake the role of Co-chairs. The term of service is one
year. Re-election is possible for one further term after which time the
post holder must step down.

The Co-chairs share equal leadership responsibility to safeguard the
cohesion, reputation and effectiveness of the organisation.

The Co-chairs together with the whole NNPCF Steering Group share
responsibility for the successful delivery of the organisation’s aims and
objectives, and good partnership relations with local forums and key
regional and national organisations.

This dual post is in keeping with our general principle of two parent
carers working in pairs to ensure availability and to model the fuller
range of skills, experiences and perspectives of our the wider
community of parent carers.
External facing






Promote and deliver a solution-focussed approach.
Represent the range of expertise, regional experiences and joint
decisions of the whole group.
Form consistent points of contact for key external partners and ensure
co-ordinated working with NNPCF representatives who have specific
delegated roles.
Explore contacts or project opportunities to develop the profile and
involvement of the NNPCF
Explore contacts or project opportunities to develop diverse sources of
future funding.
Present an open, professional, and responsive face to the wider public
that is regionally impartial and free of conflict of interest with any other
roles.
Internal NNPCF




Communicates openly, consistently and transparently with all NNPCF
representatives and fully involves TG in decision-making and
implementation.
Ensures that the agreed values, policies (governance or otherwise),
procedures and performance standards are consistently implemented,
and that the organisation addresses any gaps, or weaknesses as it
develops. (Share this responsibility once manager appointed)
Contribute to regular telekit and other communications so that both cochairs are involved and up-to-date with NNPCF activities and
contextual developments. (and Operational Manager when appointed
and funding allows)
Work to grow the representational and democratic processes within the
organisation
Operational manager

Provide administrative advice and support to all other roles within the
NNPCF enabling the smooth running of the organisation, particularly in
working closely with the partner organisation.

To service and administer main meetings of NNPCF.

Provide point of contact for general enquiries and collects information
about relevant events or developments. Assist as communication
conduit

Ensure the financial and operational functions (like recruitment) of the
organisation comply with good practice and legal duties. This includes
being fully involved in writing funding applications.

To oversee disclosure of declarations of interest and allocation of work
or roles that avoids real or perceived conflicts of interest.

Ensures that all communications sent by the NNPCF or delegated
person are agreed, accurate and professional. And that these
communications comply with logo and other stipulations once these
have been agreed by the steering group. Co-ordinating and supporting
the collation of National NNPCF responses to national consultations.

To work closely with the Co-chairs to ensure a fair division of work and
responsibility that relate to the skills and expertise of current NNPCF
reps and assist in search for non regional representatives

To take a lead role in the management and co-ordination of inquiries
into complaints received by the NNPCF, in collaboration with the
Operations Manager, dependant on the nature and context of the
complaint.
