Wireless LAN Client Configuration Guide for PDA (Pocket PC)
1.
Download the NYP Wireless LAN root certificate from
http://www.nyp.edu.sg/cnc/wireless/rootca.cer. Save the certificate into the PDA.
2.
Tap Start, Programs, File Explorer. Browse to the file, rootcer.cer, and tap on it.
3.
Click Yes to install the certificate.
4.
Verify the certificate is installed by tapping Start, Settings, System, Certificates, and
Root. Scroll down and you’ll see an entry for NYPWLAN.

Tap Start, Settings, Connections and Network Cards.
6.
At Networks to access, select Only access points and click Add New …
7.
Enter the Network name and select Work for Connects to as shown below.

In the Network Key tab, select Open for Authentication and WEP for Data
Encryption.

In the 802.1x tab, check Use IEEE 802.1x network access control and select
PEAP for EAP type.
10.
At the Network Log On screen, enter Username, Password, Domain and check
Save password.

User name is the window domain login name, eg:
Student: 01234a (Admission Number)
Staff: staffid (Staff ID)
Password is the password of the window domain login name.
Login domain is as follows:

Once connected, you will receive an IP Address of 172.26.x.x as shown.
13.
In the AP Browser tab, you will see the Network name you have entered earlier on
in the Preferred Profiles.
14.
You are now successfully connected to NYP wireless LAN.
