The ABP-ISC-50RMB2 Integrated Amplified SATCOM
Communications Case (ISC) is a complete portable Enroute
SATCOM-On-The-Move communication case equipped with
50 Watts FH multi-band 30-512MHz amplification. The
amplified power/voice/data system is mounted in a small
watertight transportable case. This self-contained, Rapid
Deployment system provides uninterruptible DC power and
voice/data for the AN/PSC-5, AN/PSC-5D, MBMMR and
AN/PRC-117F transceivers. The transceiver is securely
mounted on a Jerk-And-Run mount inside the case and can
be easily removed together with its uninterruptible power
supply for other applications. The ISC saves many BA-5590/U
batteries and will pay for itself after only a few weeks of
operation by eliminating extensive and expensive battery
replacement while conserving batteries for critical missions.
The uninterruptible power systems inside the ABP-ISC-50
operates from any AC power source world-wide (85-270 VAC
/ 47-440 Hz including aircraft power) or 9-36V DC power
source to include HMMWV, 12V commercial vehicle, boat and
aircraft. The rechargeable backup battery (included) operates
the transceiver during AC or DC power failure.
A second battery pack (optional) can be dropped into the unit
to double the battery operating time. Night Vision Goggles
(NVG) compatible test indicator lights indicate the operating
status of the ISC and a fully charged battery.
A High Efficiency Amplified Speaker is included for local or
remote operation. A standard military handset/headset, H250/U or similar type (not supplied) can be connected to the
Amplified Speaker. A special Automatic Level Control (ALC)
circuit at the audio input insures constant audio level at the
speaker regardless to the level of the received audio from the
transceiver/encryption unit. A 5 Watts of clear, crisp audio
overcomes noisy environment and provides the user with
consistent audio clarity.
Optional 115VAC/60Hz uninterruptible power is available for
laptop computer.
Reversible Data/Accessory connector option (optional) allows
interface with the AN/PRC-117F Data/Accessory connector.
Internal storage space is provided for the Speaker, cables,
Transceiver, small laptop computer, handset and antenna.
The robust, water/air tight and sand/dust-proof ISC case can
be transported as a carry-on luggage on commercial airline
and equipped with foldable handle for easy mobility.
Operating temperature range is -400 C to +700 C (-30 to +600C
for power amplifier). Storage temperature range is -450 C to
+850 C.
