SUCCESS AND SERVICE Visit Us! Transfer Guide When LaQuan Martinez ’16CPS, a public relations major, transferred to St. John’s University in Fall 2013, he was unsure whether it was the right decision for him. “My experience at St. John’s has been more than positive,” he said. “I transferred from my community college because I felt that I could receive more from a university and St. John’s has proven that I could.” After getting involved on campus with his fraternity, Sigma Pi, on the St. John’s Dance Team, and as a transfer student ambassador, LaQuan reflected, “I no longer have any doubts about the choice that I have made. St. John’s is my home, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” stjohns.edu/visit Transfer Team Gina Kilian Queens Campus 718-990-2051 pappasg@stjohns.edu Juantiesha Christian Staten Island Campus 718-390-4323 christj1@stjohns.edu “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” LaQuan said. “If not for St. John’s, I wouldn’t have received my summer internship at Target.” SCHOLARSHIPS St. John’s strives to put a college degree within the financial reach of each student. During the 2013–2014 academic year, 96 percent of St. John’s students received $474 million in aid through scholarships, grants, work-study programs, and loans. All transfer students to St. John’s are considered for transfer scholarships, which range from $5,100 to $15,000 annually. Phi Theta Kappa members are also eligible for an additional annual scholarship in the amount of $2,000. We offer a transfer distinction award for up to $15,000 in tuition discount if the transfer admission criteria are met and the student has earned, or will earn, an associate degree from a community college before enrolling. As long as the student remains continuously enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing, the award will be renewed for the next two or three years. All transfer students are considered for an academic scholarship or the transfer distinction award. stjohns.edu/transfer Queens Campus Office of Admission 8000 Utopia Parkway Queens, NY 11439 1-888-9STJOHNS Staten Island Campus Office of Admission 300 Howard Avenue Staten Island, NY 10301 718-390-4500 Contact us at transfers@stjohns.edu M1-10009/LR Transfer to St. John’s and Discover the World.
