John was educated in the Copiague and Central Islip Public
School System. He served two consecutive tours of duty in
the United States Navy and U.S. Army. He was honorably
discharged. After that, he met and fell in love with Patricia
Wilson. They married in 1968. From this union, they had two
daughters: Kim and Yolanda.
In 1978, Bunky started a new chapter in his life by
remarrying Pamelia V. Loving. From this union came two
daughters: Anissa and Rachel. They remained in love and
married, living in Central Islip, NY until her untimely death
due to her failed health, in 2005.
In his lifetime, he held many jobs that allowed him to work
with his amazing ability to build and create. He worked for
Republic Airport and for the Grummans Corporation. Bunky
was an entrepreneur in his own right. He had the remarkable
talent to work on and fix anything he set his mind to,
especially cars, earning him the nickname “The Fixer”. He
loved cars! His unique ability to detect mechanical issues and
his awesome skills, put him in high demand. He was the
mechanic’s mechanic! Bunky was a very hard worker and
provider.
At one point during his life’s journey, he was baptized in the
name of Jesus and actively attended the Free & Independent
Church of Our Lord Jesus, under the leadership of the late
Bishop Stanaford L. Stewart, for many years.
Bunky was known and loved by many, for being a person
that would help anyone. His smile and laughter could light up
a room. Bunky had a good heart, and really loved his family
and friends!
Unfortunately, his health began to decline due to many
illnesses, that affected his ability to properly care for himself,
independently. Thus, his final days were spent in the hospital
and Parkview Rehab and Care Center.
