Troubleshooting No Sound Coming from the Headphone Jack Embedded Touch Screens Verify that your headphones are working by plugging them into a known good device or unit. Are headphones good? Yes Ensure the volume is high enough to be heard by using the increase volume button on the keypad or by using the touch screen. Does indicator on the screen increase? No No Replace the keypad or calibrate the touch screen Yes Find working headphones and continue. Is sound coming from the jack? Yes Problem Resolved No Check cable connections between the CCB and touch screen. No Follow instructions in Check Sound from the CCB Is sound coming from CCB? Verify that there is sound coming directly from the CCB. Yes Follow instructions in Checking CCB to Screen Cable Follow instructions in Test the Audio Cable Test the audio cable. Are the cables good? No Is sound coming from the CCB? No Yes Reconnect the audio cable to the CCB and plug headphones back into the jack. No Is sound coming from the jack? Replace the audio cables and test. No 637-1424 Rev: A Troubleshooting Check Sound from the CCB 1. Remove the bottom cover of the display head (Fig. 1). Disconnect the audio cable from the CCB (Fig. 2). Fig. 2 Fig. 1 2. Disconnect the AV cable from the JP3 on the CCB (Fig. 4) and JP5 on the touch screen (Fig. 5). Fig. 5 Fig. 4 2. Using a multi-meter, do a continuity test on all the wires (Fig. 6) • If there is no continuity on any of the wires, replace the cable. Fig. 6 3. Plug the cable back in to the CCB and interface board. Be sure that both cables are plugged in properly. 4. Return to the flowchart.
