9. TECHNOLOGY
Staff Resource Person – Ms. Cline
Recommendation for Action:
9.1 Mobile Computer Lab Purchase for Mills Elementary and Central Middle School
As part of the Title I assistance to students, Central Middle School and Mills
Elementary will purchase laptop carts and extra batteries for the carts. These mobile
labs will be used by the students for reading, writing and math support. Small groups
of students will be able to use these computers in each classroom.
Due to the late approval of our Title 1 application by the state, students at Mills
Elementary will only have access to these computers for a short time. This is
unfortunate, but the law requires approval prior to purchases made with Title 1 dollars.
All Title 1 equipment, books and materials at Mills will be inventoried and will be
distributed to at-risk students in other Title 1 buildings for the 2010-2011 school year.
Pricing for the technology totals $72,526. Pricing is the same as that offered as part of
the technology bid earlier this month. Trivalent Group, Inc. won that bid. The
administration is requesting approval to provide a purchase order to Trivalent group for
delivery and installation this spring.
