Below are 3 ways to be a voice of hope to refugees both locally and globally. Email Shannon@mosaicchurch.tv with questions about this month’s outreach. 1. Make a Donation Mosaic will collect monetary donations for World Relief (worldrelief.org) a trusted, worldwide Christian organization that also serves refugees in North Carolina. Indicate Refugee Relief on your donation when giving online or by check. 2. Donate Towards or Make a Welcome Kit for a Refugee Family in N.C. Consider gathering a friend or two to put together a kit, or donate towards the completion of a kit. Mosaic will be collecting kits and donations to purchase items to make kits during the month of October. These kits will be distributed to N.C. refugees. *A bathroom kit includes - Towels, washcloths, bath mat, shower curtain and rings, toilet paper, trash can, soap, shampoo/conditioner & a first aid kit. $25 suggested donation. *A cleaning kit includes - Laundry basket, paper towels, laundry detergent, bucket, mop/broom & cleaning supplies. $25 suggested donation. * A household kit includes - Dishes, silverware, pots/pans, mixing bowls, can opener, potholders, kitchen towels, trash bags, plastic wrap & aluminum foil. $100 suggested donation. 3. Co-Sponsor a Family Mosaic volunteers will work with the Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte (ccdoc.org) to co-sponsor a refugee family resettling in Charlotte. This will require support for the family through friendship, mentorship and financial assistance. Mosaic volunteers will also work with CRRA (carolinarefugee.org) in any way we can, as they plan to relocate over 300 refugees in the Charlotte area this year alone. FUZE is our High School and Middle School ministry for grades 6 - 12. Students meet weekly at the Hope Center on Sundays from 6-7:30 p.m. If you have a need (or know of a need) and not sure who to talk to about it, please email the Care Team at care@mosaicchurch.tv.
