Travel to Cuba for two weeks with CNVE Executive and Professor Don Lewis while developing cross-cultural communication skills and gaining valuable entrepreneurial exposure. In recent years the Cuban government has made measured concessions to encourage more entrepreneurship and private-sector growth thereby providing a unique platform and context. The course will be a classroom based in the fall semester with a field trip to the country in January and will be part of the Spring 2017 course registration. Go to mays.tamu.edu/cibs. Select “For Students” > “Study Abroad” > “Faculty-Led Programs.” Select the “Apply” button for the appropriate program. Rolling admission: You will be notified (by TAMU e-mail) of acceptance into the program. If you receive an “acceptance” email and have DECIDED NOT TO ATTEND the program, please REPLY to the email immediately, as your student account will be billed for the $500 non-refundable payment, which will be DUE within one week. If $500 payment is not made by the due date, you will be dropped from the program list. September: Request a Study Abroad Financial Aid Request Form from CIBS and meet with a Financial Aid Advisor to adjust your spring semester financial need. October & November: Attend 4 mandatory pre-departure meetings to discuss program details and prepare academically for the Cuba. Mr. Lewis will notify you via email details of the meetings that will take place at Start-up Aggeialnd during the fall semester. October: The Houston to Cuba airfare of approximately ~$800 will be billed to your student account. The remaining program fee of $1,900 will be billed to your student account. These must be paid by the SBS payment deadline to avoid late charges. October 12: Deadline to submit an application for the University-wide Study Abroad Scholarships. Mid-November: Your student account will be billed for the TAMU Study Abroad Service Fee of $300. This fee must be PAID when it posts to your account or you will be dropped from the IBUS course by the Registrar’s Office!
