The Lord be with you.
± And with your spi-rit.
A read-ing from the Ho-ly Gos-pel ac-cord-ing to Luke.
± Glo-ry to you, O Lord.
In those days
a decree went out from Cae- sar Au- gus- tus
that the whole world should be en- rolled. This was the first en- roll- ment,
when Quirinus was governor of Sy- ri- a.
So all went to be en- rolled,

each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Ga- li- lee from the town

of Na- za- reth to Ju- de- a,
to the cit-y of Da- vid that is called Beth- le- hem,

his be- trothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her

to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son.
She wrapped him in

in the inn.
Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping

for you: you will find an in-fant wrapped in swad-dling clothes and lying in a

with the an- gel, prais- ing God and say- ing: “Glo- ry to God in the high- est
