PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS
Stephen B. Schmitt, Jr. | Associate III
EXPERIENCE
Stephen Schmitt, Jr. has broad-based
experience in structural investigation,
conditions assessment, repair and
rehabilitation design, and peer review for
building structures. He works in WJE’s material
group, the Janney Technical Center, and
specializes in structural testing for product
development and accreditation, litigation
support, structural evaluation, and failure
investigation. Mr. Schmitt’s involvement in
structural testing has provided him with
practical exposure to structural materials,
including—but not limited to—steel,
reinforced and precast concrete, and wood.
Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Schmitt worked as a
Research Assistant in the Multi-Axial Full-Scale
Sub-Structures Testing and Simulation (MUSTSIM) Laboratory at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. He was named a recipient
of the Roy S. Carver Graduate Fellowship in
2006.
