Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the 'Digital India Week' from 1st July
to 8th July 2015 in the national capital with a view to empower the people of the country
through the Digital India Programme.
The Government of India has been under taking a series of initiatives for developing various
applications and portals that would go a long way in making the lives of the citizens better.
The Digital India Week aims at encouraging people’s involvement and creating awareness
among them.
Digital India has been envisioned as an ambitious umbrella programme to transform India into a
digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
Digital India Week Objective(s)
Educate citizens on functional digital literacy, cyber security, cyber hygiene, ensure better
utilization of Digital infrastructure during the DI Week and beyond.
SREE DATTHA INSTITUTIONS celebrated the "DIGITAL INDIA WEEK" in association with Spoken
Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay & truly deserves to because of the following reasons:
I. Conducted 20 workshops on 20 different technical subjects under Train 10,000 teachers
-National Mission on education thru ICT an initiative of MHRD and run under the flagship of
IIT - Bombay and IIT- Kharagpur.
2. 16 Faculty of Sree Dattha Group of Educational Institutions - Engg, Mgmt & Pharmacy
attended 16 different workshops on different occasions on the campuses of
IIT - BOMBAY & IIT - Kharagpur
3. 929 teachers participated and got certified for attending , involving and undergoing the
various quizzes and assignments related to 20 different workshops on 20 different technical
subjects under the Train 10,000 teachers -National Mission on education thru ICT an initiative of
MHRD and run under the flagship of IIT - Bombay and IIT- Kharagpur .
4. 21 Training sessions were conducted under the FOSS (Free Open Source Software) Spoken Tutorial Project - an initiative of MHRD and run under the flagship of IIT - Bombay and
able leadership of Mrs. Shyama Iyer .
5. No. of participants in the above said training sessions were 931 that includes students and
faculty both.

6. 189 Faculty received “Certificate of Completion” from FOSS - Spoken Tutorial - an initiative of
MHRD & run under the flagship of IIT - Bombay
7. 419 Students received Learner Certificates & “Certificate of Completion” from FOSS - Spoken
Tutorial - an initiative of MHRD & run under the flagship of IIT - Bombay.
8. Students of Sree Dattha Institute of Engineering and Science developed an application called
"Flamingo" for android platform which is similar to MS-Power Point under the Research &
Development Center operating in our campus under the flagship and able guidance of IIT Bombay
9. Students of Sree Dattha Institutions developed the college website for Android platform
under the Research & Development Center operating in our campus under the flagship and able
guidance of IIT - Bombay
10. on an average 17 teams comprising of 3 members each participate every year and since last
4 years in the Unisys (The US compnay that developed the first digital computer) Innovation Lab
Projects and implemented their mini and major projects for AB Suite
and many more technology based activities are conducted.
Sri. G. Panduranga Reddy garu - Chairman was the chief guest of the function and following
were the other dignitaries: Mr. Vibhav Reddy - Vice Chairman, Dr. O. Balakrishna - Principal ,
SDGI, Dr. V.V.V.S. Murthy - Principal, SDES & Sameer Khan. Students of 3rd year & 4th year
belonging to all branches of SDES and SDGI were the participants.
