EUROPEAN 420 CHAMPIONSHIP Last day of Qualifying Series completed successfully On the third day of the 420 Open European Championship & European 420 Championship Ladies Open the regattas were successfully completed. Yesterday the wind was SW (220°) with intensity of 5.5 knots, which rose gradually to 12 knots in the afternoon, allowing the completion of the 6th race for the Ladies fleet and the 5th and 6th race for the Open fleet. This was the last day of the qualifying series, in which the decision is made for the division of the fleets in Gold (boats with the best qualifying series rank) and Silver (boats with the next-best qualifying series rank). Today is the lay day of the competition and, starting tomorrow, July 27, the final series mark a more competitive fase that sets out the new European Champion of the class. The overall leadership of the Ladies group is once again dominated by the French Jennifer Poret and Louise Chevet, in the Open group returned to the lead the Greeks brothers, George and Alexander Kavas.
