Note
McAfee ® File and Removable Media Protection (FRP) is the new name for Endpoint
Encryption for Files and Folders (EEFF). For the latest information on supported platforms,
environments, and operating systems, see KB81149.
New features
This release of the product includes the following new features:
Large file support for Removable Media
Files of size greater than 4 GB are now supported on USB devices encrypted with "Allow/Enforce Encryption with offsite access
(formerly EERM)" options.
USB devices that are initialized with previous versions of the product are automatically upgraded to support files of size
greater than 4 GB when inserted on to a FRP 4.3 client.
Mac OS X offsite application for Removable Media
You can now view/edit or copy files to and from encrypted USB devices on Mac OS X clients using the offsite application. This
support is available for USB devices encrypted with "Allow/Enforce Encryption with offsite access (formerly EERM)" options.
The Mac offsite application is automatically added when the device is inserted on to a FRP 4.3 client.
Support for Windows 8.1
Extends McAfee ePO managed McAfee File and Removable Media Protection capabilities to endpoints that are running Windows
8.1.
Support for certain selected modes of Citrix XenDesktop, version 5.6 and 7.1
For the latest information on support for VDI environments, see KB81478.
Block Write Operations functionality
An additional "Protection Level" option is now available as part of the "Removable Media" policy for USB devices. This option
will restrict the USB devices to a "read-only" mode. This protection level option is already available for CD/DVDs.
Support for 3 TB devices
Supports USB devices up to 3 TB in size with "Allow/Enforce Encryption with offsite access (formerly EERM)" options.
