Retrofit polymeric Tactile Ground Surface

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A unique, 600 x 900mm or 400x400mm Tactile ground surface indicator pad manufactured from new
generation long lasting UV stable polymer. Designed to warn the vision impaired of an impending
hazard or to provide directional guidance. As part of The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
compliance, it is now mandatory to provide Tactile Warning Indicators (TGSI) to stairs, ramps and
many other changing conditions.

FORMULATED ADVANTAGE
PolyPad® is manufactured from a blend of high performance polymers for improved resistance
to acids, solvents, ozone and oxidation. It also exhibits: good flame retardance; good abrasion
resistance; superior resistance to weather, ozone, sunlight and oxidation; excellent resistance
to alcohols, alkalis and acids, very good colour stability;
moderate resistance to oils and gasoline.

Designed to conform with the Australian Standards AS1482.
PolyPad retrofit Tactile pads have:

An overall size of 600x900mm
•
A stud protrusion height of 5mm, the maximum to ensure
longevity and optimum anti-slip
•
A stud major diameter of 35mm and minor diameter of
25mm at 50mm centres.
•
Available in hazard or directional profiles.
BRITISH STANDARDS
Designed to conform with the British Standards BS7997.
PolyPad retrofit Tactile pads have:
•
Overall size 400x400mm
•
A stud protrution height of 5mm for the blister tile and 6mm for the courdaroy tile to ensure
longevity and optimum anti slip
•
The blister tile comes with a truncated dome with a major diameter of 25mm and a minor
diameter of 16mm at 67mm centers
•
The courdaroy tile comes with a 20mm rib, 8 off at 50mm centers
•
Blister profiles are available in square and offset patterns.
COLOURS AVAILABLE
• High visibility Yellow, Black, Ivory, Grey, Dark Grey, Ocean Blue, Terracotta, Orange,
Sky Blue and Buff.

Steps will satisfy requirement M1 or M2 if a corduroy

bottom landings of a series of flights to give advance
warning of a change in level.

Blister Tactile
The blister tactile stud is used to indicate pedestrian crossings with dropped kerbs, light-controlled
crossings, and crossings with no traffic lights or off street applications. Offset blister tactile is used

Can be easily trimmed to suit any combination of Tactile pad size

PolyPad® has a maximum base thickness of 2.5mm, i.e. below the required 3mm, to ensure it is
never a trip hazard

Easy to install over all substrates including concrete, ceramic tiles, bitumen, timber decking and
most other surfaces

Low maintenance polished surface manufactured from a blend of polymers to ensure long
lasting performance, resistant to heavy traffic abuse and maintenance machinery

UV stable to ensure the product lasts the test of time both indoors and out
•
Abraded bottom surface to ensure optimal adhesion
•
Available with a DIY installation kit.
LUMINANCE CONTRAST
In accordance with the Australian Standards, a minimum luminance contrast of 30% must be
provided between the tactile indicator pad and the surrounding substrate. PolyPad® is available in a
range of colour allowing specifiers the option of selecting the most appropriate luminance value for
any given installation. Refer to the PolyPad® luminance chart for selection details.
