Step 5: Stagger toward the back of the section (toward the
crown) and take a weave parting and apply Formula 2.
Before: Model has colored level 10 (very light
blonde) hair with level 8 (medium natural blonde).
Step 1: Take a triangular weave parting of hair and clip it away.
Pick up the points of the triangular weave parting and apply
Formula 1 to the lightened areas only, from approximately 3
inches from the scalp to the ends. Feather the edges of the
color near the natural color so that there isn’t a line of
demarcation, just a soft transition into the intense colors.
Step 2: Take a second weave parting toward the
back of the section and apply Formula 1 in the
same manner as Step 1.
Step 3: Leave two staggered weave partings of
blonde hair unfoiled, then take two staggered
weave parings and apply Formula 2 in the same
manner as Step 1. Turn the color brush on its
side to help feather the line of color.
Step 4: Directly underneath, take a weave parting in the
center of the section (without leaving any blonde hair)
and apply Formula 3.
Step 6: Leave two staggered weave partings of blonde
hair (one from the front section and one from the back
section) unfoiled, then take two staggered weave
partings and apply Formula 4.
Step 7: Leave two weave partings of blonde
hair unfoiled, then take a weave parting from
the center of the section and apply Formula
2. Directly underneath, take a weave parting
with Formula 4 and one last weave parting
with Formula 2.
Step 8: Proceed to the opposite side. Take a triangular
weave parting of hair and clip it away. Pick up the points of
the triangular weave and apply Formula 1. Leave a weave
parting of blonde hair, then take a weave parting and apply
Formula 2. Leave a weave of blonde hair, then take a weave
parting with Formula 3. Leave a weave parting of blonde
hair, then take a take a weave parting with Formula 4. Take
a weave parting with Formula 2, then directly underneath,
take a weave parting with Formula 4.
Step 9: Process for 20 minutes, then rinse. Apply
K-PAK Shampoo, then rinse. Apply K-PAK Cuticle
Sealer; leave in for 5 minutes, then rinse. Apply
K-PAK Intense Hydrator; leave in for 5 minutes,
then rinse. Dry the hair and style with the
appropriate Joico styling products.

Phase 1 / Prelightening
Step 1: Starting at a side parting, take an horizontal slice
parting and apply Prelightening Formula 1/8-inch from the
scalp area through the midshaft and ends.
Step 9: Take a back-to-back horizontal slice parting with
Formula 2, a back-to-back horizontal parting with Formula 3,
then two back-to-back horizontal slice partings with Formula 4.
Step 2: Continue to take back-to-back horizontal slice partings
with Prelightening Formula (leaving no hair between the foils)
for approximately five slice partings. Leave out a small parting
of natural hair at the hairline, then take a vertical slice parting
with Prelightening Formula.
Step 10: Proceed to the side area. Working vertically, take
a slice parting at the front area and apply Formula 1. Take a
second slice parting with Formula 4, a third slice parting with
Formula 2, a fourth slice parting with Formula 3, a fifth slice
with Formula 1, a sixth slice parting with Formula 2, and a
seventh and last slice parting with Formula 3.
Step 3: Take approximately five vertical slice partings (working
from the front toward the nape area behind the ear) and apply
Prelightening Formula. Step down the foil toward the hairline
for a total of six foils.
Step 11: Proceed to the opposite side. Leave out the triangular
section of natural hair, then take back-to-back diagonalhorizontal slice partings, applying formulas in the following
order: one slice with Formula 3; one slice with Formula 1; one
slice with Formula 4; one slice with Formula 2; one slice with
Formula 3; one slice with Formula 1; and one last slice with
Formula 4.
Step 4 - 6: Proceed to the
opposite side and repeat
Steps 1 to 3.
Step 7: Lift the hair to a level 9 (yellow), then rinse. Shampoo
with K-PAK Shampoo, then rinse. Apply K-PAK Cuticle Sealer
for 5 minutes, then rinse. Apply K-PAK Deep-Penetrating
Reconstructor for 5 minutes, then rinse and dry the hair.
Proceed to Phase 2.
