unique venue with flexible layouts, up-to-date audio
visual equipment and wireless broadband.
The venue is centrally located in Shrewsbury on
Abbey Foregate with ample car parking and is easily

a 13th century building, once used by pilgrims
visiting Shrewsbury Abbey. Nowadays, it offers a
comfortable and well equipped space for business
meetings, seminars, training days, talks, product

In addition to the conference and event venue, our welcoming
visitor centre offers a garden with outdoor seating, self-guided
trails and plants for sale; a shop selling nature-inspired books,
gifts, cards and bird food; a café selling hot and cold drinks,
sandwiches, cake and snacks; all with a family-friendly theme.

ABBEYGATE HALL
This spacious room is bathed with light through large stained
glass windows. On the upper floor of the Old infirmary building,
it has a vaulted ceiling and a large oak doorway that leads down
a staircase into our beautiful wildlife garden.
This room is ideal for talks and presentations as well as informal
gatherings. The Hall offers a unique and historic space which
combines modern features and offers all the amenities of a
purpose-built conference centre.

The room measures 15m x 7m and can accommodate up to 40
café style, 25 board-room, 42 dining or 80 theatre style.
Barnacle room
DARWIN SUITE
The following two rooms are on the ground floor of the
Old Infirmary building. They can easily be opened up to
create one large space, making them especially suitable for
training sessions.
THE BEETLE ROOM
The Beetle room has a floor to ceiling mural of the Stiperstones.
An archway hidden within the old stonework marks the
navigation channel to the River Severn. Two doors open directly
onto the wildlife garden with outdoor seating.

The room measures 7m x 6.75m and can accommodate up to 30
café style, 16 board-room, 36 dining or 40 theatre style.
GARDEN ROOM
Built into the cloisters, this room is almost part of the
garden. A glass wall floods light into the timber-framed
room and maximises the view of the garden. It offers
a wonderful venue for small meetings, workshops or
celebrations.

The room measures 7m x 3.5m and can accommodate up to
12 boardroom style, 15 classroom style and 18 dining.
