Cages are important components of the suspension arrangements used in mining operations. They are the actual payload bearing component in whole of the cage suspension arrangement. Accordingly, design of the cages has to be carefully looked into, to avoid accid.ents. Various types of cages are in use in mining industry. Most commonly used cage is single deck six-point suspension cage without balance rope.
