INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
1.Check the weight of the load and make sure that the dampers you have available are suitable for
dampening the load in question. Remember to factor in the weight distribution of the load.
• E.g. The 34 LV 10/300 is designed for a load weighing between 180 and 270 kg (60–90% of 300 kg).
2.The LV series vibration dampers are designed for vertical compression loads. Make sure that the
base and the bottom of the equipment are level.
3.When dampening vibration in machine aggregates, the actuator and the actuated equipment
must stand on the same, solid base.
4.Check the ambient conditions:
• The temperature should be between -35 and +65°C.
• Models without casings should not be exposed to UV radiation.
• Dampers should not be exposed to organic solvents.
• The rubber used in the dampers should not be exposed to oils.
5.Any pipes or other similar structures should only be connected to the dampened equipment using
flexible fasteners. This prevents them from interfering with the dampers, stops vibration from
resonating along the pipes and protects the pipes against shearing forces.
6.Check the depression of the dampers after installation.
• E.g. The 34 LV 10/300 should sag by about 6–9 mm under loading (60–90% of 10 mm).
7.Make sure to leave sufficient clearance all around the dampened equipment.

SELECTING A CORRECT DAMPER
SEE DIMENSIONING TABLE!
1.Check the rotating speed, weight and the number of dampers of the machine. N.B.: The
dampers are selected according to the lowest speed of the machinery.
2.Draw a vertical line at the machine speed in the dimensioning table. N.B.: This is not necessary,
if the speed exceeds 700 rpm.
3.Calculate the load on the dampers by multiplying the weight of the machine by the number of
dampers used. The load on the dampers must not exceed 85% of the maximum damper load.
4.Draw a vertical line in the diagram at the load calculated for the damper.
5.Place a ruler in the horizontal point, where the line you just drew intersects some of the lines
representing the damper model. Start the procedure by checking the LV 10 models first.
6.Select a damper, which meets the following requirements:
• The horizontal line intersects the rpm line you drew in range B. N.B.: For low-speed
machines range A can be used. The direction of the vibration is also crucial. In vertical
vibration, range C can be used, in addition to ranges A and B, and correspondingly range D
in horizontal vibration.
• When the ruler intersects the damping class curve on the left of the dimensioning table in
the range I=excellent damping; II=good/satisfactory damping
