Asbestos Compliance
The Control of Asbestos Regulaons
2006 requires asbestos to be
managed. This management involves
idenfying or presuming the presence
of asbestos, monitoring and recording
its condion and documenng a
wrien plan that describes how the
risk will be managed.
Am I compliant?
You may have already had an asbestos survey of your
building, but this doesn’t mean that you have met the
asbestos management requirements of the Regulaons
You must have a documented Asbestos Management
Plan. You must also monitor and record the condion of
asbestos materials in the building, keep records up to
date and make sure informaon is available.

Both documents are likely to recommend acons to achieve asbestos

An Asbestos Management Plan should be reviewed
regularly to ensure your on-going compliance with
legislaon (every 6 months) The Management Plan will
typically include;
• Policies and Procedures for emergencies
Refurbishments and day-to-day operaons
• Key asbestos informaon (from survey)
• Risk assessment for each ACM
• Acon plan
• Monitoring and Re-inspecon regimes
• Training requirements
• Roles and responsibilies
• Disseminaon of informaon
• Dues of asbestos co-ordinator

Re-Inspecons
In accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulaons
2006, Any ACM – idenfied or suspected – will need to
be inspected periodically to check that it has not
deteriorated or been damaged. The frequency of
re-inspecon must not exceed 12 months but is dictated
by the risk it poses.
Whether your asbestos survey records are electronic
or hard copy, Redhills can re-inspect the ACM’s and
update records for you. We can also add this data to your
own database system if required. You may want to
consider procuring this service for a number of years to
protect your investment from the inial survey.

Asbestos Management Soware
Asbestos records do not necessarily need to be
maintained on a database system, however for porolios
with a high number of ACM’s and numerous people that
need access to asbestos informaon, this is oen the
best opon to manage ACM’s.

soware to meet your requirements. If you have already
chosen your soware we can work with you to develop a
way of uploading records to it, and managing the data
within it.
