COURSE NUMBER CET 322 COURSE NAME Construction Codes and Regulations COURSE STRUCTURE (3-0-3) (lecture hr/wk - lab hr/wk – course credits) COURSE DESCRIPTION An introduction to the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, the BOCA National Building Code, NJ DOT Standard Specifications and the CSI specification format. A code analysis of a typical construction project is undertaken. PREREQUISITE(S) None COREQUISITE(S) CET 317 REQUIRED, ELECTIVE OR SELECTED ELECTIVE Required Course REQUIRED MATERIALS New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (NJSA 40:55D et seq., NJ Federation of Planning Officials (Latest Edition) Uniform Construction Code, NJAC 5:23, NJ Department of Community Affairs (Latest Edition) International Building Code (2009), International Code Council COMPUTER USAGE Word, Excel CLASS TOPICS The NJ Municipal land Use law; the power of Planning Boards; Zoning Boards of Adjustment, The NJ Redevelopment Act, the Uniform Construction Code; the International Building Code.
