IEEE Transactions in Industry Applications IEEE Transactions in Power Electronics Joint Special Issue on Drives and Machines in Emerging Applications, 2012 Scheduled Publication Time: October 2012 Electrical drives and electric machines have evolved tremendously as enabling technologies for a wide variety of applications from industrial to transportation to commercial to appliances and to energy efficiency. The challenge in the coming years lies in developing new techniques at the lowest possible cost for emerging applications, to which the special Issue is dedicated. Prospective authors are invited to submit original contributions, or survey papers or tutorials, for review for publication in this joint special issue on Drives and Machines in Emerging Applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: High Power MW Machines and Drives Fault Tolerant Multiphase Drives Electrical Machines and Drives for Energy Saving, Home Appliances or Energy Storage Novel Green Energy Technologies in Motor Drives and Electric Machines Modern Concurrent Design, Control and Estimation Techniques for Motor Drives Machines and Drives for Electric & Hybrid Electric Vehicles and other Transport Technologies Drives for High Speed Applications High Precision positioning Drives for Automation Performance Comparison of Drives with Different Motor Types. Papers with applications in nature are particularly welcomed. Papers submitted for presentation at ECCE2011 are also welcome. All manuscripts must be submitted through the IAS ScholarOne Manuscripts site at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ieee-ias. Authors who wish to submit a paper for consideration must submit an abstract to the Guest Co-Editors identified below. Authors who submit an abstract will receive a formal invitation with detailed instructions for submission of the complete manuscript to the IAS ScholarOne Manuscripts site.
