THE POLITICS OF RESENTMENT IN 2016 Understanding political leadership requires understanding the perspectives of those who are led. In 2016 much of our attention has been on the phenomenon of Donald Trump’s rise to political power in the United States. Based on extensive ethnography of voters in the Midwestern U.S. state of Wisconsin, Cramer examines the anxieties & identities among members of the public that Trump has tapped into. This close look suggests that a politics of resentment underpins a variety of contemporary political developments.
