THE POLITICS OF RESENTMENT IN 2016
Understanding political leadership requires understanding the perspectives of
those who are led. In 2016 much of our attention has been on the phenomenon
of Donald Trump’s rise to political power in the United States. Based on extensive
ethnography of voters in the Midwestern U.S. state of Wisconsin, Cramer
examines the anxieties & identities among members of the public that Trump has
tapped into. This close look suggests that a politics of resentment underpins a
variety of contemporary political developments.
