1 Walking to MaxLab from the Anhörighotel (7 minutes)
Going from MaxLab to the Anhörighotel is more obvious than getting to MaxLab, so once you have the latter figured
out, getting back is trivial.
• The “front” of the Anhörighotel faces Systervägen.
• From there, go to your left along Systervägen until you reach Törnavägen.
• Turn right, cross Systervägen, and walk (south-southeast) along Törnavägen until you can see that Törnavägen
goes over a bridge. There should be a crosswalk just before you reach the bridge.
• Cross Törnavägen at that crosswalk.
• Turn right and follow the path. You should be walking by a parking lot on your left.
• Eventually the path leads onto a narrow road (driveway) feeding the parking lot. Follow that road.
– To your right is another road leading up from below ground level that only buses run on. You should see a
bus-stop after walking about 100m from the Törnavägen crossing.
– You can either walk down the steps to the bus stop and then continue along the bus road, or you can
continue down the driveway until it meets the bus road. Either way, reach the intersection of the bus road,
Sölvegatan, and John Ericssons väg.
• Cross the bus road at the first crosswalk, continue for a few meters (you should be facing south), then cross
Sölvegatan (you should end up facing southeast).
• There is a driveway that simply continues on in a gradual arc to the right (towards the south) and that also feeds
a parking lot to the right of it .Follow that road.
– You should see an area thick with brush and trees and, further along, sculptures that look like candle
holders or light fixtures. Aim for those sculptures.
• When you reach the sculptures, you should see a bridge ahead of you and a pond to the right of the bridge. Cross
the bridge.
• Follow the path to the right.
• Look for a leftward fork from your path 30m from the bridge then take it.
– If you passed a building on your left with a sign reading “Maskintek”, you’ve passed the fork and should
back up a couple to a few tens of meters to find the fork.
– "Maskintek" is the building actually physically attached to MaxLab so if you find it, you are very nearly
there.
• You should be between two widely separated buildings, and approaching a parking area straight ahead, and
a cargo or goods door on the building to your right. That’s the back entrance to MaxLab (you should see
“MaxLab” above the door). If you have a card, you can swipe it to get in there.
• If you don’t have a card, then you’ll have to walk around to the front entrance. Follow the parking area until you
reach a road (Ole Römers väg).
• Turn right at Ole Römers väg and follow that until you reach the driveway to another parking area (to your
right). That leads to the front entrance. At the entrance, you will have to ring to get in.

2 Walking from Lund Centralen (train station) to Patienthotellet (20 minutes)
If you are tired or have come as a group, a taxi is recommended. You should expect to pay 100-120 SEK. If you are
feeling energetic (or sick of sitting), it’s quite a feasible walk. Going from Patienthotellet to the station is probably
easier to navigate than the other way around.
• When you step out of the station, you should be facing east. The road in front of you should be Bangatan. It
runs north-south.
• Turn left and follow Bangatan until you see a square across the street. That should be Clemenstorget. You want
to reach the far or northeast corner of Clemenstorget, but not actually step foot on it, so follow the sidewalks
across the street around it...
– Continue to follow Bangatan until you reach the northwest corner of Clemenstorget, then cross Bangatan.
– Continue one block east until you see a road that runs diagonally to your left. That should be Sankt
Laurentiigatan.
• Follow Sankt Laurentiigatan until you reach Bredgatan (should be about 300m). You should be facing a red
brick church called Allhelgonakyrkan.
• Cross the street to the church side then turn left to follow Bredgatan, which turns into Getingevägen. It eventually
curves to the right, heading northwest.
• After 400m to 500m, you should see a bus terminal. Do not walk past that.
• Turn right at the bus terminal. On the right (south) side of the street there is a building with a sign that reads
“Universitets Sjukhuset” and on the left (north) is the building you want.
• Walk another 30 meters to the entrance of the Patienthotellet. During the daytime, the door will be unlocked.
Late at night to early morning, there will be someone to let you in when you punch in the phone number at the
intercom.
