Responsibilities
Responsible for Engineering and Design of all cell equipment for multiple MSC's in the New England markets
Specific responsibilities include:
Planning
Engineering,Provisioning and Implementation of Alcatel Lucent eNBs, power plant systems and various
antenna systems.
Forecast future cell needs including, but not limited to, base stations, routers, circuit packs, floorspace &
power.
Develop and issue planning report for cell sites to be utilized by Region & HQ
Budgeting
Work closely with Area and Manager to prepare and review annual budget
Track all Capital requirements related to the cell sites
Monitor all equipment expenditures
Prepare purchase orders and ensure vendor payment utilizing PeopleSoft
Equipment Procurement & Optimization
Ensure optimum equipment utilization and efficiency
Oversee equipment installation and acceptance
Project Management
Design, procure equipment and manage construction of new cell sites
Aid in design, procurement and management of cell equipment expansions
Candidate must have experience with Alcatel Lucent BTS equipment and power plant systems. In addition,
experience and proficiency with Excel, Access, Visio and PeopleSoft are a must. Must be self motivated and
have ability to complete tasks with little supervision. Strong Project Management and Communication skills
with the ability to work closely with Team members. B.S. Degree or minimum of 5 yrs equivalent
Telecommunications experience.
Project management skills are needed for this position
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred
Project management certifications are desired or equivalent work experience
5+ years in telecommunications desired
Functional Accountability
Provides technical and/or analytical support to solve a wide range of complex issues/problems. Periodically
makes recommendations that aid in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area;
works with limited supervision; typically reports to Supervisor (Band 7) or on occasion Manager (Band 6)
Individual Contributor Role
Applies some advanced technical or analytical skills to the position or specialization. Identifies key issues and
patterns from partial or conflicting data. May adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques
to accomplish the requirements of the position. May assist in the preparation of detailed costs analysis and
justification for technical application changes.
Decision Making Authority
Receives supervision and occasional guidance on achieving objectives relative to a specific program task,
project or initiative. At times, may work independently with limited supervision.
Work Complexity
Provides project or technical support in the development, analysis and maintenance of systems, software,
processes, products or equipment. Assignments may involve more difficult issues; therefore uses experience,
expertise and skills to solve problems that are more difficult but infrequent.
Knowledge and Skills
Requires a range of skills within a technical or professional discipline including familiarity with principles,
theories, concepts and technologies to work on generally complex operational or technical activities and an
applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.
Education & Experience
For technical positions, High School or Technical Associates degree or equivalent work experience. For all
other positions, Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. Generally requires minimum of 2 to 5 yrs
experience dependent on title. Example: Sr Specialist (minimum of 5 yrs), Lead Specialist (4 yrs), Specialist
(3yrs), and Sr Analyst (2 yrs)
